Pics below are of the Desert Park in Alice Springs. It is wonderfully natural and a pleasure to walk through its woodlands, sandy desert and other areas. We saw a raptor display with a wedge tail eagle soaring on high till it landed on the handlers gloved hand. The pics below are of native bush foods including: bush passionfruit, bush bananas, coconut which is formed by insects forming galls in trees with a sweet coconut like inside developing from the insect, moisture and sugars - all of which are eaten. Other pics include beans for necklaces , quandongs, the nuts inside the quandongs which are a bit like macadamia nuts but later leave a minty taste, lemon grass and Mike and another participant trying to make fire through sawing one piece of wood through a soft wooden block.
